Donnie Geist

Donnie R. Geist, age 66, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2014 at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. He was born on September 19, 1947 in Garden City, Kansas, the son of Leland "Hap" Clarence & Lelia Louise Wade Geist. A lifetime resident of Scott City, Kansas, he retired from Wheatland Electric Cooperative in 2009 after 30 years of being a Lineman and warehouseman. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Scott City, Kansas and was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. On June 11, 1971 he married Garee S. Hillery in Scott City, Kansas. She survives. Survivors include his Wife - Garee Geist of Scott City, Kansas, One Son - L.J. & April Geist of Elk City, Oklahoma, Three Daughters - Kandie Calvert of Russell, Kansas, Dawn & Rod Oberheim of Garden City, Kansas, Jill & Gary Tanner of Wichita, Kansas, Two Brothers - Frank Geist of Wichita, Kansas, Steve Geist of Moore, Oklahoma, Five Sisters - June Gullett of Hattieville, Arkansas, Lu Juana Baker of Garden City, Kansas, Linda Foster of Kiowa, Kansas, Cheryl Keyse of Scott City, Kansas, Vickie Wheeler of Amarillo, Texas, Ten Grandchildren & One Great Grandchild. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Six Brothers - Bob, Gene, Jack, Randall, Larry, Mike and Three Sisters - Juanita, Marie & Sheila. Memorial Services will be held at the First Christian Church in Scott City, Kansas at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2014 with the Rev. Scott Wagner & Pastor Steve Payne presiding. Memorials may be given to the Donnie R. Geist Memorial Fund % Price & Sons Funeral Home. Inurnment will be held at the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas. There will be no calling times.
