Donald L. Oberheim, 75, passed away at Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas on Tuesday, December 22, 2009. Born June 19, 1934 in McCook, Nebraska. The son of John Franklin Oberheim and Edith Floy Franzman. He was a long-time +farmer and had been the county weed director. He was a resident of Leoti since 1938. He graduated from Wichita County High School in Leoti, Kansas in 1952.
Don was a member of the Parks Presbyterian Church in rural Wichita, County. He loved and cherished his time with his grandchildren, his daughters and son-in-law. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His love of farming continued even after he retired. He was a US Army Veteran.
On March 18, 1956 he married Margaret Elaine Baum Oberheim at Leoti. She passed away on May 7, 2002 in Garden City, Kansas.
He is survived by two daughters Tawna Miller of Garden City and Sheri Loy of Leoti, son-in-law Bruce Loy, grandchildren ShayReah and Kendrix Loy all of Leoti.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, December 28, 2009 at the First Presbyterian Church, Leoti, Kansas with Rev. Paul McNall officiating.
Burial will be in Leoti Cemetery, Leoti, Kansas.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday at Price & Sons Funeral Home, Leoti, Kansas.
Memorials may be given to the Leoti E.M.S. and the Wichita County Amusement Association in care of the funeral home.
