Donald E. Hedges, age 80, passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at the Porter Hospital in Denver, Colorado. He was born on November 11, 1932 in Offerle, Kansas, the son of Benjamin Franklin and Hazel Gladys Schenk Hedges. A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1956 moving from Manhattan, Kansas, he was a Teacher and School Administrator and a US Army Veteran.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Scott City Lions Club both of Scott City, Kansas. He was also a member of the Golden Cats of Manhattan, Kansas and a Wheatland Electric Board Member.
On August 25, 1953 he married Rosella Marie Anderson in Manhattan, Kansas. She passed away on August 22, 2009 in Elkhart, Kansas.
Survivors include his Two Sons - Thane & Dee Hedges of Scott City, Kansas, Michael Hedges of Denver, Colorado, Three Brothers - Sam & Sharon Hedges of Scott City, Kansas, Thomas Hedges of Topeka, Kansas, Emmit & Margaret Hedges of Neodesha, Kansas, One Sister - Ella May Thummel of Salina, Kansas, Four Grandchildren and Three Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, Daughter - Dawn Rachelle Carlson, Two Brothers, Four Sisters, One Half Brother and Two Half Sisters.
Memorial Services will be held at the United Methodist Church in Scott City, Kansas at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 7, 2013 with the Rev. Dennis Carter presiding.
Memorials may be given to the United Methodist Church or First Baptist Church % Price & Sons Funeral Home.
Inurnment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
