Scott City
Don L. Taylor, age 85, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the Park Lane Nursing Home in Scott City, Kansas. He was born on October 14, 1930 in Fort Scott, Kansas, the son of Frank H. And Fannie T. Comstock Taylor. A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1958 moving from Leoti, Kansas, he was a retired Line Superintendent for Wheatland Electric for over 34 years.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Scott City, Kansas. He was also a US Air Force Veteran of the Korean War with the rank of Buck Sargent. He was also a member of the Shriners, NRA, American Legion Post #183, Anthem Masonic Lodge #284 and VFW #7773.
On April 15, 1956 he married Kathryn L. Appl in Leoti, Kansas. She survives
Survivors include his Three Sons - Steve & Jennifer Taylor of Garden City, Kansas, Dennis & LeAnn Taylor of Goodland, Kansas, Lynn & Traci Taylor of Scott City, Kansas, One Brother - Darrel Taylor of Meade, Kansas, One Sister- Carol & Ken Wilson of Manzanola, Colorado, One Brother In Law - Dale & Dorothea Appl of Leoti, Kansas, Three Sister In Laws - Marilyn Appl of Leoti, Kansas, Wilma taylor of Sedalia, Missouri, Jeanette Taylor of Garden City, Kansas, Eight Grandchildren and Five Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Two Brothers and One Sister.
Graveside Services will be held at the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas at 10:00 a.m. Wed, July 13, 2016 with Adam Taylor presiding.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society % Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
There will be no visitation times.
