Dewayne Lee Dirks, age 74, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2008 at his home in Scott City, Kansas. He was born on September 12, 1933 in Copeland, Kansas the son of Walter and Ella Unruh Dirks. A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1954 moving from Montezuma, Kansas, he was a farmer.
Memberships include the Church of God in Christ Mennonite in Scott City, Kansas. On September 19, 1954 he married Delilah Koehn in Montezuma, Kansas. She passed away on January 22, 1976 in Scott City, Kansas. On June 6, 1976 he married Dorothy Unruh in Fairview, Oklahoma. She survives.
Survivors Include: Wife - Dorothy Dirks of Scott City, Kansas, One Son - Keith & Dawn Dirks of Congress, Arizona, Three Daughters - Janalee Dirks of Garden City, Kansas, Gayla Doolittle of Madrid, Nebraska and Donna & Todd Schmidt of Scott City, Kansas, One Brother - Kenneth & Maryalice Dirks of Copeland, Kansas, Five Sisters - Norma & Ivan Jantz and Doris & Don Harms both of Montezuma, Kansas, Thelma & DeWayne Schafer of Dalhart, Texas, Irene & Linford Holdeman of Halstead, Kansas and Jeanette & Eldon Koehn of Montezuma, Kansas, and Three Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, One Wife, and One Son In Law â Mark Doolittle.
Funeral Service will be held at the Pence Mennonite Church in Pence, Kansas at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2008 with Charles Nightengale & Richard Koehn officiating.
Interment will be in the Scott Mennonite Church Cemetery in Pence, Kansas.
Memorials may be given to the Gospel Tract or Bible Society % Price & Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday and 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Saturday
