David Woelk

David Eugene "Hogie" Woelk, age 62, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Greeley County Health Center in Tribune, Kansas. David was born May 5, 1951 at Cheyenne Wells, Colorado, the son of Lewis Earl & Jennie Leona Cronkite Woelk. A lifetime resident of Greeley County, he was a farmer, stockman and along with his family, the owner/operator of Barrel Springs Hunt Club at Horace, Kansas. David was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tribune, Kansas and had served for many years on the Greeley County Extension Service Board of Directors. A former Boy Scout, he was also active in Greeley County 4-H, the Kansas Livestock Assn. and the National Rifle Assn. On September 22, 1973 he married Shari Waggoner at Tribune, Kansas. David's surviving family includes- His wife- Shari Woelk- Tribune, Kansas His mother- Jennie Woelk- Tribune, Kansas Two children- Cody Woelk- Tribune, Kansas Cori Woelk- Ponca City, Oklahoma Two grandchildren- Morgan and Karlyn Woelk- Tribune, Kansas One brother- Ron & Pat Woelk- Leawood, Kansas His father preceded him in death. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am (MST) Saturday, July 6, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Tribune, Kansas with the Reverend Charles Ayers officiating. At David's request, the family will scatter his cremains at several favorite family locations at a later date. There will be no calling times. Memorials may be given to the Greeley County 4-H in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home in Tribune, Kansas.
