Leoti, Kansas Daniel Adair Schumacher, age 87, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Greeley County Hospital in Tribune, Kansas. Dan was born March 28, 1929 in Victoria, Kansas, the son of Daniel & Wilma (Hamburg) Schumacher. A resident of Logan and Wichita Counties since 1975, moving from Ellis, Kansas, Dan served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Dan was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Ellis, Kansas and was an avid follower of Kansas State University and Wichita County School Athletics. On August 12, 1962 he married Dorothy Mae Smith at Hays, Kansas. Dorothy passed away on May 17, 2011 in Tribune, Kansas. Dan’s surviving family includes- Two sons- Tracy & Laura Schumacher- Leoti, Kansas Todd Schumacher- Leoti, Kansas Five grandchildren- Megan Wise- Claypool, Indiana Lindsey Schumacher- McPherson, Kansas Miranda Schumacher- Manhattan, Kansas Jacob Schumacher- Hays, Kansas Matthew Schumacher- Leoti, Kansas One sister- Betty Wheeler- Wichita, Kansas His parents and one sister, Marilyn Dutscher precedes him in death. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, August 26, 2016 at the United Methodist Church in Leoti, Kansas with the Reverends Brad Kirk and Paul McNall officiating. Burial will be in Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas. Friends may call from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm Wednesday and from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm Thursday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Leoti, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the Leoti EMT’s and the Wichita County Amusement Association in care of the funeral home.
