Dan” A. Johnson, age 92, died on Saturday, June 13, 2020 in Farmington Hills, Michigan. He was born on October 31, 1927 in Hastings, Iowa, the son of Nels A. and May Margaret Moore Johnson. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church and was an Ordained Lay Minister and filled in as a preacher at numerous churches in the area. He was an avid Golfer and recorded two holes in one in his lifetime. He was a member of the Buffalo Dunes Golf Course for many years. He was a dance instructor at one time during his younger days. He also was an avid billiards player and played in numerous tournaments and loved to play in Domino tournaments.
He worked as a manager of OTASCO (Oklahoma Tire & Supply) in Garden City, Kansas. Dan served his country during World War II in the United States Army.
On October 18, 1952 he married Pebble Marie Bush in Wichita, Kansas. She preceded him in death on Sunday, February 23, 2020.
Survivors include:
Two Children Dr. Michael L. Johnson of Garden City, Kansas
Brenda L. Cagwin of Farmington Hills, Michigan
Five grandchildren and Two great grandchildren. And numerous, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one sister, Dorothy Beckel.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City from 10:00A.M. to 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 5-7.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at the First Southern Baptist Church of Garden City at 11:00 A.M.
Interment will be held at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City following the funeral service.
