Dale A. Delay, age 81, passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. He was born on November 25, 1934 in Lewis, Kansas, the son of Floyd and Faye Bell Delay. A lifetime resident of Lewis, Kansas, he was an assistant manager for Lewis Coop and a Machinist & Programer for Cross Manufacturing in Lewis, Kansas. He was a member of the Lewis Christian Church in Lewis, Kansas and a US Army Veteran serving in France as a Teletype Operator. On October 13, 1956 he married Helen Bernatzki. She survives. Survivors include his Wife - Helen Delay of Lewis, Kansas, One Son - Joe & Jody Delay of Schaumburg, Illinois, Two Daughters - Leatrice & Mike DiLoreto of Longmont, Colorado, Dawn & Devin Hutchins of Scott City, Kansas, Two Brothers - Duane Delay of Lincoln, Nebraska, Robert & Norma Delay of Lewis, Kansas, Two Sisters - Shirley Strassburg of Lewis, Kansas, Sheryl & Carl Fankhauser of Lewis, Kansas, Eight Grandchildren and Two Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Parents, One Brother In Law and One Sister In Law. Memorial Services will be held at the Lewis Christian Church of Lewis, Kansas at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 5, 2015 with Bill Stapleton presiding. Memorials may be given to the Kinsley Pride of Kinsley, Kansas or Park Lane Nursing Home in Scott City, Kansas % Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas or McKillip Memorial Funeral Home in Kinsley, Kansas. There will be no calling times.
