D.D. WALDREN, AGE 88, PASSED AWAY ON SUNDAY, AUGUST 19, 2007 AT GREELEY COUNTY HEALTH CENTER IN TRIBUNE, KANSAS. D.D. WAS BORN DECEMBER 13, 1918 ON THE FAMILY HOMESTEAD IN RURAL GREELEY COUNTY, THE SON OF W.R. & FLORA HOPE BATES WALDREN. HE WAS A 1938 GRADUATE OF GREELEY COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL AND SERVED IN THE UNITED STATES MARINE CORP FROM JANUARY OF 1942 THROUGH NOVEMBER OF 1945. HE WAS A FARMER AND HOUSING CONTRACTOR AND A LIFETIME GREELEY COUNTY RESIDENT.
D.D.'S MEMBERSHIPS INCLUDE- FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH- TRIBUNE, KANSAS V.F.W. POST #7521- TRIBUNE, KANSAS AMERICAN LEGION- GARDEN CITY, KANSAS HE WAS A 4-H PROJECT LEADER AND HAD SERVED AS A TRUSTEE OF THE FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH. HE WAS ALSO A MEMBER OF THE OLD TIME FIDDLERS OF KANSAS, NEW MEXICO AND ARIZONA.
ON JUNE 16, 1944 HE MARRIED DOROTHY MARIE BARROW AT TRIBUNE, KANSAS. SHE SURVIVES. OTHER SURVIVORS INCLUDE ONE SON- MALLOY D. WALDREN- TRIBUNE, KANSAS ONE DAUGHTER- LANA MARIE WALDREN- OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA NUMEROUS NEICES AND NEPHEWS. HE WAS PRECEEDED IN DEATH BY HIS PARENTS, THREE BROTHERS, WALT WALDREN, PAUL WALDREN & DAN WALDREN AND ONE SISTER, ALICE JONES.
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 10:00 A.M. (M.D.T.) FRIDAY, AUGUST 24, 2007 AT PRICE & SONS FUNERAL HOME IN TRIBUNE, KANSAS WITH THE REVEREND MICHAEL UNDERWOOD OFFICIATING.
BURIAL WILL BE IN GREELEY COUNTY CEMETERY WITH MILITARY GRAVESIDE HONORS PROVIDED BY V.F.W.POST # 7521 OF TRIBUNE, KANSAS.
FRIENDS MAY CALL FROM NOON TO 8:00 P.M. WEDNESDAY AND FROM 10:00 A.M. TO 8:00 P.M. THURSDAY AT PRICE & SONS FUNERAL HOME IN TRIBUNE, KANSAS.
