Cynthia Hammond

Garden City, Kansas Cynthia Lynn Hammond, age 59, died Monday, September 12, 2011 in Dodge City, Kansas. She was born on August 22, 1952 in Garden City, Kansas the daughter of Raymond and Gloria Burnett Reeves. A resident of Garden City since 1970, Cindy received her Masters in Education from Fort Hays State University and was a Teacher at Alta Brown Elementary School in Garden City, Kansas. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Garden City, Kansas and was involved with numerous activities that had to do with helping children. Her grandchildren were the highlight of her life. On June 27, 1971 she married Arthur Hammond in Garden City, Kansas. He survives. Other Survivors Include: One Son, Joe (& Kelli) Hammond Olathe, Kansas; Two Daughters, Deana (& Bryan) Arie of Garden City, Kansas and Amber Hammond of Garden City, Kansas; Her Mother, Gloria Reeves of Dodge City, Kansas; Two Brothers, Donald (& Tonya) Reeves of Dodge City,Kansas and Daryl (& Leann) Reeves of Dodge City, Kansas; One Sister, Cathy (& Bryce) Heikes of Dodge City, Kansas; Two Grandchildren, Brookelyn Hammond of Olathe, Kansas and Autumn Hammond of Garden City, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Reeves. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, September 16, 2011 at the First Christian Church in Garden City, Kansas with Rev. Scott Schurle presiding. There will be no public calling times. Interment will be held at a later date. Memorials be given to the Alta Brown Library Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.
