Crystal Maxine Travers, age 80, died Saturday, October 12, 2013 at the Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City, Kansas. She was born on January 24, 1933 in Garden City, Kansas the daughter of Don R. and Allie Christmas Kells Carroll. A resident of Garden City since 1958 she was a homemaker, a school bus driver for USD 457, a tax preparer and a Wal-Mart employee.
She was a member of the First Church of God of Garden City, Kansas.
She also belonged to the Grange, the church choir, her ceramic club and she enjoyed playing the piano.
On June 19, 1951 she married Harvey Harold Travers in Rocky Ford, Colorado.
He died May 21, 1988 in Garden City, Kansas.
Survivors Include:
Two Sons, Mel Travers of Garden City, Kansas and
Glen (& Debra) Travers of Garden City, Kansas;
Two Brothers, Roy Carroll of Cheyenne Wells, Colorado and
Raymond Carroll of Manzanola, Colorado;
Seven Grandchildren and Seven Great-Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Four Brothers, Ernest, Arthur, Duane & James Carroll and Four Sisters, Velda Carroll, Inez Dew, Ethel McClure & Florence French.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas with the Rev. Brian Faust presiding.
Friends may call from 1:00am-8:00pm Monday and 10:00am until service time Tuesday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas.
Interment will be held in the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas.
Memorials may be given to the Garden Valley Retirement Village or Homestead Assisted Living Center both in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City, Kansas
