Clinton Oliver Wampler, age 88, died Friday, January 5, 2007 at his home in Garden City, Kansas. He was born on August 21, 1918 in Garden City the son of Erastus and Lelia Stout Wampler. A lifetime Garden City resident he was a farmer.
He was a member of the First Christian Church and was a board member of the former Fidelity State Bank both of Garden City.
On June 9, 1985, he married Merlene Rintoul at Cuchara, Colorado. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Zeke Wampler of Holcomb, Kansas and Lawane Luckett of Sherman, Texas, 2 Daughters, Malinda DeBey of Huntsville, Texas and Raylene Froman of Boone, Colorado, 2 sisters, Martha Morris of Denver, Colorado and Dorothy Wampler of Garden City, Kansas, and seven Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, John Wampler and a sister, Louise Wampler.
Funeral Services were held at 11:00 am on Monday, January 8, 2007 at the First Christian Church in Garden City with the Rev. Klaus presiding.
Calling times were held on Sunday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City.
Interment was held in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas.
Memorials may be given to the Church of the Nazarene Youth Group or to Fellowship Square at the First Christian Church both in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City, KS.
