Clifford Leon Binns

Clifford L. “Pete” Binns, age 84, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2023, in Scott City, Kansas.  He was born on March 28, 1939, in Scott City, Kansas, the son of Samuel Lee and Inez Evelyn Needles Binns.  A lifetime resident of Scott City, Kansas, he was retired from Wheatland Electric where he worked as the warehouse supervisor for over 38 years.

He was a member of the Christian faith, a Scout Leader, Baseball Coach and ran the Beach House at Lake Scott State Park for many years.

On December 6, 1959, he married Emma Jean Sawyer in Scott City, Kansas.  She survives.

Survivors include his Wife - Emma Jean Binns of Scott City, Kansas, One Daughter - Darlene & Rocky Hayes of Newton, Kansas, Four Sons - Jerry & Lauralei Binns of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Calvin & Jeannie Binns of Hiawatha, Kansas, Quint & Linda Binns of San Angelo, Texas, Lonnie & Melinda Binns of Pottsboro, Texas, One Sister - Jo & Don Wimp of Oswego, Kansas, Two Sisters In law - Kelly Binns of Great Bend, Kansas, Norma & Warren Sherwin of Scott City, Kansas, Sixteen Grandchildren, Thirteen Great Grandchildren, Two Great Great Grandchildren, and many Nieces, Nephews & Cousins.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Three Brothers - Allen Binns, Jim Binns, Sandy Binns, and Two Sisters - Betty Jeffries and Nancy Gray.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at the First Baptist Church in Scott City, Kansas with Steve Payne presiding. 

In Lieu of Flowers, memorials can be written to the Friends of Lake Scott State Park in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home, PO Box 553, Scott City, Kansas, 67871.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday and 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday at Price & Sons Funeral Home, 401 S. Washington Street, Scott City, Kansas.

Interment will be held in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
