Clarence Powers, age 78, passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2008 at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. He was born on December 27, 1929 in Bellefont, Kansas, the son of Grant and Alice Margarete Henning Powers. A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1960 moving from Fowler, Kansas, he was a Farmer, Rancher, and Carpenter. He was a US Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Memberships include: St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Scott City, Kansas. On October 15, 1951 he married Eileen Elffner in Fowler, Kansas. She survives. Survivors Include: Wife : Eileen Powers of Scott City, Kansas, Three Sons: Ronald & Kathy Powers of Littleton, Colorado, David & Sharon Powers Scott City, Kansas, Jay & Pam Powers of Holcomb, Kansas Five Brothers: LaVern Powers of Hutchinson, Kansas, Grant Powers of Spearville, Kansas, Richard Powers of Greenwood, Missouri, Norman Powers of Dodge City, Kansas, and Galen Powers of Sanford, North Carolina Four Sisters: Geraldine Dohrmann of Ensign, Kansas, Berniece Logan of Troy, Missouri, Gerva Powers of Kiowa, Kansa, and Norma Ross League City, Texas. Six Grandchildren and One Great Grandchild. He was preceded in death by his Parents, One BrotherâÂÂVirgil Powers, and One SisterâÂÂGenevieve Cayton. Vigil Service will be held at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, February 3, 2008. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, Kansas at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 4, 2008. Officiating will be Fr. Warren Stecklein. Graveside Service will be held at the Fowler Cemetery in Fowler, Kansas at 3:00 p.m. Monday, February 4, 2008. Memorials may be given to the St. Joseph Catholic Church or United Cerebral Palsy Foundation Or American Diabetes Association % Price & Sons Funeral Home. Visitation will be at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday and 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday.
