Chancy Orman Finch, age 74, died Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at his home in Garden City, Kansas. He was born on March 25, 1932 in Gove, Kansas the son of August B. and Lele Mae Van Pelt Finch. A resident of Garden City since 1969 moving from Logan County, Kansas, he was a retired road equipment operator for the Finney County Road Department.
He was a member of the First Christian Church and the John J. Haskell VFW Post #2279 both of Garden City. He was a US Navy Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.
On March 1, 1956, he married Isabel L. Bartel @ Russell Springs, Kansas. She survives.
Other survivors: Two Daughters; Juanita Brammer of Keoto, Oklahoma and Bonnie Fry of Mulvane, Kansas. One Sister; Twila M. Patterson of Oakley, Kansas.
Six Grandchildren and Nine Great-Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, February 26, 2007 at the First Christian Church in Garden City with the Rev. Klaus presiding.
Friends may call from 1:00-8:00pm on Saturday and Sunday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City.
Interment will be held at 3:00pm on Monday in the Gove Cemetery in Gove, Kansas.
