Cecil Alfred Ramsey, age 68, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007 at the St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. He was born on July 1, 1939 in Crougar, Oklahoma the son of William Alfred and Wilma Irene Varney Ramsey. A resident of Garden City since 1970 moving from Union City, Oklahoma, he was a welder.
He was a member of the Jehovah's Witness of Garden City, Kansas.
On July 17, 1987 he married Florence E. Collins in Garden City, Kansas She survives.
Other Survivors Include: Three Sons: Cecil Glenn Ramsey of Garden City, Kansas, David Allen Ramsey of Waco, Texas and Danny Joe Ramsey of Kansas City, Missouri; One Daughter: Rebekkah LaMae Freeman of Kansas City, Missouri; Two Step-Sons: Shawn Ray Collins of Austin, Texas and Robert Ray Collins of Salina, Kansas; Two Brothers: Archie Dale Ramsey of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Reford Larry Ramsey of Wichita, Kansas; Mother-In-Law: Dorothy Marie Simpkins of Garden City, Kansas; Five Grandchildren and Four Great-Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.
Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at the Lakin Cemetery in Lakin, Kansas with Mr. Gary Rhoads presiding.
There will be no calling times.
The family requests memorials be given to the Cecil Ramsey Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.
