Carolyn Vester

Carolyn K. Vester, age 72, died on Friday, March 15, 2013 at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City, Kansas. She was born on July 30, 1940 in Nickerson, Kansas the daughter of Carl T. and Rosetta E. Hunt Mitzner. Before moving to Garden City, Carolyn raised her two girls and ran the Buffet restaurant in Stafford, Kansas. From 1987 until her retirement in 2002 she worked in the food service department at both Terrace Garden Care Center and at Garden City Community College. On May 18, 1978, she married Robert A. Vester in Stafford, Kansas. He survives. Other Survivors Include: Two Daughters, Terri Lynn Gonzales of Mesa, Arizona and Melissa Kay Mitzner-Williams of Lynnwood, Washington; Two Brothers, Steve Mitzner of Sylvia, Kansas, and David Mitzner of Garfield, Kansas; Four Sisters, Twila Blew of Sylvia, Kansas, Jolene Cook of South Hutchinson, Kansas, LeAnn Runyan of Hutchinson and Donna Hearn of Stafford, Kansas; Seven Grandchildren and One Great-Grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Carl Dean & Gary Mitzner. Family graveside services will be held in the Sylvia Cemetery in Sylvia, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the St. Catherine Hospice in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City, Kansas.
