Bonnie J. Deines, age 80, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2008 at St. John's Rest Home in Victoria, Kansas. She was born on January 9, 1928 in DeKalb, Illinois, the daughter of Waldo and Evelyn Miller Brakey. A resident of Garden City, Kansas since 1944 moving from DeKalb, Illinois, she was a secretary for a District Judge and for Deines Aero Spray of Garden City, Kansas. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, United Methodist Womens Circle, Kansas Cowbells, Womens Golf. Bonnie along with Betty Whitiker and Janet Murphy were the Co-Founders of Womens Kansas Agricultural Aviation Association and Co-Founders of Womens National Agricultural Aviation Association. She was a avid Card player, Bowler, Golfer, and was a certified Brail Producer for Diane Jones Flemming. On May 16, 1948 she married Reinholdt Deines in Garden City, Kansas. He survives. Other Survivors Include: One Son - Lynn Deines of Garden City, Kansas, Two Daughters - Gretta & Don Hoffman of Hays, Kansas and Janet Solt of Manhattan, Kansas, Eight Grandchildren and Two Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and Two Brothers: Robert Brakey and Bud Brakey. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 30, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church in Garden City, Kansas with the Rev. David Bell & Rev. Brenda Fluellen presiding. Friends may call from 1pm-8pm on Saturday and 1pm-8pm Sunday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City. Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the Church or to Salvation Army in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City, Kansas.
