Betty June Roberts, age 83, died Sunday, May 27, 2007 at the Homestead Nursing Home in Denison, Texas. She was born on November 10, 1923 in Wichita, Kansas the daughter of Paul E. and Sarah Johnson Tucker. She graduated from Jetmore High School in 1941 and attended Dodge City Community College. In 1946 she and her husband moved to Garden City where she provided daycare for numerous children for several years. She then drove a school bus for USD 456 for 19 years, a job she considered one of the most rewarding of her life. She retired and in 1994 moved to Pueblo West, Colorado and then to Denison, Texas in 2006.
On January 9, 1944 she married Harold E. Roberts in Cimarron, Kansas. He survives.
Other Survivors Include: One Son, Ret. USAF Chief Master Sgt. Mark Roberts of Cartwright, Oklahoma. One Daughter, Robin Partin of Pueblo West, Colorado. One Sister, Pauline Voran of Cimarron, Kansas. Four Grandchildren, Four Great-Grandchildren and several nephews & nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Lorene Tucker, a daughter, Vicki Gunderson and a grandson, Eric Gunderson both USAF veterans.
Funeral Services will be held at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas @ 10:30 am on Friday, June 1, 2007 with the Rev. Paul Klaus presiding.
Friends may call from 1-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City.
Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.
The family requests memorial be given to the Betty June Roberts Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.
