BETTY LOUISE BARR, AGE 81, PASSED AWAY ON TUESDAY, JANUARY 22, 2008 AT THE HOSPICE CARE CENTER OF McKEE HOSPITAL IN LOVELAND, COLORADO. BETTY WAS BORN MARCH 26, 1926 AT WAKENDA, MISSOURI THE DAUGHTER OF LEWIS & BEULAH DYE HARDEN. SHE WAS A HOMEMAKER AND CO-OWNER OF BARR'S BEST STORAGE IN GARDEN CITY, KANSAS. SHE HAD BEEN A LEOTI RESIDENT FROM 1944 THROUGH 1993, WHEN SHE MOVED TO GARDEN CITY, KANSAS.
BETTY WAS A MEMBER OF THE BIBLE CHRISTIAN CHURCH OF GARDEN CITY, KANSAS. SHE WAS A FORMER MEMBER OF THE PLEASANT VALLEY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH IN NORTHEAST WICHITA COUNTY. BETTY WAS AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF AL-ANON, SERVING ON NOT ONLY THE STATE BOARD OF DIRECTORS, BUT THE NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL BOARDS AS WELL.
ON MAY 22, 1944, BETTY MARRIED RAYMOND CLAIR BARR AT LEOTI, KANSAS. HE PASSED AWAY ON JUNE 8, 2003 AT GARDEN CITY, KANSAS.
BETTY'S SURVIVORS INCLUDE- FIVE SONS AND THEIR WIVES- DENNIS LEE & CAROL BARR- GARDEN CITY, KANSAS DONALD DUANE & SHARON BARR- LOVELAND, COLORADO DELAND RAY & SALLEY BARR- WEISER, IDAHO DEAN ALLEN & MARY BARR- BUFFALO CREEK, COLORADO DIRAN UDELL BARR & MELISSA HAROLD- BERTHOUD, COLORADO ONE BROTHER- QUINTEN HARDEN- CAROLTON, MISSOURI SEVENTEEN GRANDCHILDREN, TEN GREAT GRANDCHILDREN SHE WAS PRECEEDED IN DEATH BY HER PARENTS, A DAUGHTER, DANA RAE BARR AND FOUR BROTHERS, DARRELL HARDEN, IVAN HARDEN, LEE HARDEN AND QUADE HARDEN.
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 2:00 P.M. FRIDAY AT THE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH IN LEOTI, KANSAS WITH THE REVEREND RICK JUST OFFICIATING. BURIAL WILL BE IN LEOTI CEMETERY. FRIENDS MAY CALL FROM 10:00 A.M. UNTIL 8:00 P.M. THURSDAY AND FROM 10:00 A.M. TO 11:00 A.M. FRIDAY AT PRICE & SONS FUNERAL HOME IN LEOTI, KANSAS.
MEMORIALS MAY BE GIVEN TO THE BETTY BARR MEMORIAL FUND IN CARE OF THE FUNERAL HOME.
