BESSIE EVELYN ERHART, AGE 89, DIED TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 2006 AT THE MIMOSA MANOR IN KELLER, TEXAS. SHE WAS BORN APRIL 21, 1916 IN SYRACUSE, KANSAS THE DAUGHTER OF OTIS AND IDA SCRANTON BRAY. IN 1934 SHE GRADUATED FROM SYRACUSE HIGH SCHOOL. A RESIDENT OF GARDEN CITY SINCE 1948 MOVING TO TEXAS IN 2004 SHE WAS A HOMEMAKER AND ASSISTED HER HUSBAND WITH RABBIT DRIVES AND MANY OTHER DROUGHT-RELATED PROBLEMS.
SHE WAS A MEMBER OF THE FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH AND SHE ENJOYED ENTERTAINING IMPORTANT VISITORS TO THE EXPERIMENT STATION. SHE ALSO SPENT MANY HOURS TENDING HER VEGETABLE AND FLOWER GARDENS ALWAYS SENDING HER VISITORS AWAY WITH LARGE QUANTITIES OF GARDEN PRODUCTS.
ON SEPTEMBER 15, 1934, SHE MARRIED ANDREW "ANDY" ERHART @ SYRACUSE. KS. HE DIED JANUARY 5, 2004 IN LAKIN, KANSAS.
SURVIVORS INCLUDE: 3 SONS; RON ERHART OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, DENNIS ERHART OF GALENA, MISSOURI AND DANA ERHART OF TERREBONNE, OREGON. 1 BROTHER, HAROLD BRAY OF SYRACUSE, KANSAS. 8 GRANDCHILDREN & 7 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN
SHE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY 2 BROTHERS AND A SISTER.
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD @ 11:00AM, ON MONDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 2006 @ THE PRICE & SONS FUNERAL HOME IN GARDEN CITY WITH THE REV. ROBERT NUCKOLLS OFFICIATING.
FRIENDS MAY CALL FROM NOON-8PM SUNDAY @ THE PRICE & SONS FUNERAL HOME IN GARDEN CITY.
PRIVATE FAMILY BURIAL WILL TAKE PLACE IN THE VALLEY VIEW CEMETERY IN GARDEN CITY.
THE FAILY REQUESTS THAT IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, MEMORIALS BE GIVEN TO THE FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH IN CARE OF PRICE & SONS FUNERAL HOME - GARDEN CITY.
