Audrey Leone Hunter, age 91, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Greeley County Health Center in Tribune, Kansas. Audrey was born June 6, 1922 in Tribune, Kansas, the daughter of Joseph Porter & Oma Douglas Smith. A lifetime resident of Tribune, Kansas, she was a ranch wife and partner in Hunter Livestock Company and a former ambassador for Price & Sons Funeral Home in Tribune, Kansas.
Audrey was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Greeley County Historical Society both of Tribune, Kansas and was highly involved in many other organizations in the Tribune community.
On April 29, 1944 she married Clayton G. Hunter in Lakin, Kansas.
Audrey's surviving family includes-
One son
Jeff & Sue Hunter- Kempner, Texas
One granddaughter-
Jandy Hunter- Sharon Springs, Kansas
Four great grandchildren
Jaidem Rhea- Sharon Springs, Kansas
Jasia Rhea- Sharon Springs, Kansas
Jyma Rhea- Sharon Springs, Kansas
Jessie Hunter- Mustang, Oklahoma
One sister-
Leona Nelson- Shawnee, Colorado
Her parents, a grandson, J.D. Hunter, three brothers, Jay Smith, Donald Smith & Ivan Smith, and four sisters, Evelyn Kellogg, Dora Lee Bishop, Ilene Koepske, and Edith Mayeaux precede her in death.
There will be no visitation
Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 pm (MST) Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the Greeley County Cemetery in Tribune, Kansas with the Reverend Paul McNall officiating.
Memorials may be given to the Greeley County Health Center Long Term Care in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home in Tribune, Kansas.
