Antonio Barraza

Antonio "Tony" Barraza, age 59, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Wichita, Kansas. Tony was born April 14, 1951 at La Junta, Colorado, the son of Mauricio & Annie Montoya Barraza. He was raised in Leoti, Kansas by his adopted parents, Margarito "Maggie" & Jennie Ortiz, Sr. A resident of Garden City since 1972 moving from Leoti, Kansas, he had been a Mechanical Engineer for Tyson Foods for over 20 years.

Tony was of the Catholic faith and was an avid fisherman, woodworker, enjoyed playing pool and watching sports.

On August 29, 1970 he married Patricia Moffet at Leoti, Kansas.

Tony's surviving family includes- His wife- Patricia Barraza- Garden City, Kansas One son- Tony J. Barraza- Eugene, Oregon Two daughters- Ginny Barraza- Garden City, Kansas Stephanie Brant- Scott City, Kansas Four brothers- Manuel Barraza- Houston, Texas Isaac Barraza- Lubbock, Texas Richard Barraza- Houston, Texas Lawrence Barraza- Rocky Ford, Colorado One sister- JoAnn DeLeon- San Antonio, Texas Six grandchildren His parents, and three brothers, Faustin Ortiz, Eddie Barraza and Margarito Ortiz, Jr. precede him in death.

Vigil Services will be held at 7:00 pm Friday, November 18, 2011 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Leoti, Kansas.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, November 19, 2011 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Leoti, Kansas with Father Benjamin Martin officiating.

Burial will be in Leoti Cemetery, Leoti, Kansas

Friends may call from 11:00 am until 8:00 pm Thursday and from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm Friday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Leoti, Kansas.

Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
