Annabelle L. McDaniel

Annabelle L. McDaniel, age 96, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. She was born on February 28, 1928, in Ruleton, Kansas, the daughter of Russell Hank & Nellie Belle Jackson Zeigler. A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1953, moving from Goodland, Kansas. She and her husband, Jim were the owners and operators of McDaniel Inc. “Firestone” in Scott City, Kansas from 1953 to 2000. With forty-seven years of retail service to the community, Jim & Annabelle became well known to many selling tires, hardware, appliances, sporting equipment, and household goods, and even provided a special area for children known as “Toyland” in their store.

She was a member of the St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and was a Charter Member of the Beta Sigma Phi Chapter both of Scott City, Kansas.

On June 26, 1946, she married James W. “Jim” McDaniel in Goodland, Kansas. He passed away on January 20, 2016, in Scott City, Kansas.

Survivors include his One Son - Rob & Lee Ann McDaniel of Benton, Arkansas, One Daughter - Lonnie & Bill Lewis of Scott City, Kansas, One Grandson - Ryan & Katie Lewis of Kansas City, Missouri, One Granddaughter - Adalin McDaniel of Lexington, Kentucky, 2 Great Grandchildren - Aisley Lewis & Grayson Lewis of Kansas City, Missouri.

She is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, One Brother Bill Zeigler, One Sister - Adeline Harper, and One Granddaughter - Heather Lewis.

Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 21, 2024, at the St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 303 Epperson Dr., Scott City, Kansas with Fr. Don Martin presiding.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Scott County Library in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home, PO Box 552, Scott City, Kansas, 67871.

There will be no calling times.

Inurnment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
