Annabelle Foley Bare, age 98, went with peace to meet our Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 30, 2013 from Greeley County Long Term Care in Tribune, Kansas. Annabelle was born on a Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 1914 in Tribune, Kansas, the daughter of Thomas & Molly Jones Foley. A lifetime resident of Greeley County, Kansas, she was a homemaker and farm wife. On June 12, 1930, Annabelle married Carl C. Bare at Leoti, Kansas and in 1935 was believed to be the last woman to arrive in Colorado by covered wagon with her husband, Carl, and two children. They enjoyed sixty-three years of marriage together and on October 26, 1995, Carl passed away. She farmed, cooked, made the very best buckwheat pancakes on the face of this Earth, sewed, took care of children, was an avid reader, loved to recite poetry, sing old gospel songs and most importantly, had a soft heart for our dear Lord. She had the softest lap known to mankind. Annabelle was known to beat rattlesnakes to death when necessary.

Opal Bare- Tribune, Kansas
Betty J. Bougsty- Westminster, Colorado
Carl "Teddy" Bare, Jr.- Aurora, Colorado
Seventeen grandchildren, Twenty- nine great grandchildren, ten great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews who through their tears of love will cherish her memory and celebrate her promotion. Annabelle was the last of eleven brothers and sisters. including Gertrude, Mahlon, Leonard, Ollie, Fred, George, Tom, Laura, Mike & Clifford. Her parents, husband, a daughter, Lois Rowe and a son David "Cub" Bare have also preceded her in death.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am (MST) Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Tribune, Kansas with the Reverend Mark Randolph officiating.
There will be no calling times.
Memorials may be given to the Greeley County Library or Greeley County Long Term Care in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home.
