Alvis Thayne Nichols, age 81, passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2014 at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. He was born on February 10, 1933 in Fowler, Kansas, the son of Clarence Orson & Martha Edna Eccleston. A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1971 moving from Garden City, Kansas, he was a Seed & Fertilizer Salesman and a Farmer.
He was a member of the First Christian Church in Scott City, Kansas. He was a US Army Veteran.
On August 24, 1957 he married Patricia Ann Myers in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She survives.
Survivors include his Wife - Patricia A. Nichols of Scott City, Kansas, One Daughter & Fiancé - Crystal A. Nichols & Butch Scroggins of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Three Step Grandchildren - Warren & Whitney Scroggins of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Jacob Scroggins of Fort Benning, Georgia, Noah Scroggins of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Ten Nieces & Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Parents and Five Sisters.
Graveside Services will be held at the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2014 with the Rev. Scott Wagner presiding.
Memorials in Lieu of flowers may be given to Caring Hearts % Price & Sons Funeral Home.
Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday @ Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
