Alta Mae Yardley, age 85, passed away on Monday, April 12, 2010 at the Homestead Health and Rehabilitation Center in Garden City, Kansas. She was born on May 16, 1924 in Wichita County, Kansas, the daughter of Walter A. and Gladys M. Lehman Wood. A resident of Garden City, Kansas since 1984 moving from Scott City, Kansas.
Her memberships include the First Christian Church of Scott City, Kansas, CWF, EHU, Afternoon Study Club, and a Lake-Wide-Awake 4-H Club Leader. She was a volunteer for the Family Crisis Hotline for 15 years and was a Stanley Home Products Dealer for over 30 years.
On August 22, 1948 she married Kenneth R. Yardley in Wichita County, Kansas. He passed away on August 14, 1983 in Scott City, Kansas.
Survivors Include her Two Daughters - Kay Davis of Garden City, Kansas, Aleta Boller of Wichita, Kansas, Two Sisters - Vera MacArthur of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Emogene Harp of Scott City, Kansas, Five Grandchildren and Two Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, One Son â Kyle, and One Infant Sister.
Funeral Services will be held at the First Christian Church in Scott City, Kansas on 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010 with the Rev. Jeff Knighton presiding.
Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
Memorials may be given to the First Christian Church % Price & Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday and 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City.
