Allen Unruh, age 80, died Saturday, November 7, 2009 at his home in Garden City, Kansas. He was born December 18, 1928 in Montezuma, Kansas the son of William & Augusta Unruh. A resident of Garden City since 1951 moving from Ingalls, Kansas he had been an automotive service manager for over 20 years at Schreiber Motors, later working for Circle K Automotive, and then Wal-Mart for 15 years.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Garden City and was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the Korean Conflict.
On August 19, 1951 he married Wilma DeCamp in Garden City, Kansas. She survives.
Other Survivors Include: One Son, Tim Unruh of Liberal, Kansas: One Daughter, Tammy Kimberly of Shawnee, Kansas; Five Brothers, Wally Unruh of Garden City, Kansas, Raymond Unruh of Elbing, Kansas, Lester Unruh of Rock Hill, South Carolina, Dale Unruh of Andrews, Texas and Edward Unruh of Garden City, Kansas; Two Sisters, Betty Sherrill-Mick of Naples, Florida and Dolly Poggendorf of Cozad, Nebraska; and Three Grandchildren, Sara Kimberly of Lenexa, Kansas, Amy Kimberly of Shawnee, Kansas and Aaron Unruh of Garden City, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lee & Larry Unruh. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church in Garden City, Kansas with the Reverends Brenda Fluellen & Raymond Unruh presiding.
Friends may call from 1:00-8:00pm on Tuesday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City.
Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the Church in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City, Kansas.
