Alice J. O'Dea

Alice J. O’Dea, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. She was born on November 1, 1938, in St. Francis, Kansas, the daughter of Ervin and Dorothy Toohey Gerver. A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 2009 moving from North Platte, Nebraska, she had been a server for the Holiday Inn.

She was a member of the Community Christian Church in Scott City, Kansas. 

On September 7, 1957, she married Patrick Bernard O’Dea in Oberlin, Kansas. He passed away on July 9, 2010, in Garden City, Kansas.

Survivors include his Two Sons - Michael O’Dea of Williston, North Dakota, Scott & Michelle O’Dea of Hershey, Nebraska, Two Daughters - Voleta Karel & Leighann Dugdale of North Platte, Nebraska, Betty & Jan Cummins of Olathe, Kansas, One Daughter in Law - Brenda O’Dea of Scott City, Kansas, One Sister in Law - Voleta Gerver of McCook, Nebraska, Eighteen Grandchildren, Thirty-Three Great Grandchildren, and One Great Great Grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, One Son, One Brother, and Three Sisters.

Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas, with Pastor Steve Payne presiding.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Alice J. O’Dea Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home, PO Box 552, Scott City, Kansas, 67871.

Interment will be in the Fort McPherson Cemetery in Maxwell, Nebraska, and will be announced at a later date.
