Alice Irene Bontrager, age 96, died on Friday, June 18, 2021 at the High Plains Retirement Village in Lakin, Kansas. She was born on August 9, 1924 in Kokomo, Indiana the daughter of Ananias and Emma Miller.
She was a member of the Lakin Wesleyan Church, Gideons International Auxiliary, Wesleyan Women International, and Lakin Budget Shop Steering Committee.
On April 16, 1943 she married Freddie D. Bontrager in Elkhart, Indiana. He preceded her in death on October 4, 2009 Palmetto, Florida.
She is survived by:
Two Sons Lewis (Deanna) Bontrager of Kendall, Kansas
Darrell (Terry) Bontrager of Emporia, Kansas
Three Daughters Lucienne (Don) Buell of Elkhart, Iowa
Connie Fawcett of Palmetto, Florida
Dena (Alden) Swartz of Dajeon, South Korea
18 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Lakin Wesleyan Church in Lakin, Kansas.
Interment will follow at the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Garden City, Kansas.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 25 from 10-3 at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas and from 5-8 pm with the family present at the Lakin Wesleyan Church in Lakin.
