Albert L. Marker, age 92, died Monday, October 8, 2012 at the St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. He was born September 3, 1920 in Scott City, Kansas the son of John A. and Elva Harper Marker. He was an avid horse lover and a WWII US Army Veteran. He was a truck driver at Smith Sand Co., a mechanic at Burtis Motors and retired from his long career at Great Plains Chemical/Lextron as a Warehouse Manager at the age of 80.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the VFW, both of Garden City, Kansas.
On May 12, 1951, he married Minnie Hill at Colby, Kansas. She survives along with his brothers, Gay and Bud Marker, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Brothers, Earl and Lyle Marker & Sister, Beatrice Walter.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am, Friday, Oct. 12, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church in Garden City, Kansas.
Interment will be held in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas.
Friends may call from 10:00am-8:00pm Thursday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas.
