Alan Dale “Whitie” Bollinger, age 78, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. He was born on February 11, 1936 in Farmington, Illinois, the son of Kenneth Bollinger & Agnes Lafferty Bollinger Yowell. Alan’s father passed away when he was just 2 years old.
A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1954, moving from Wild Horse, Colorado. He was a truck driver and worked for Betts Baking Company for 5 years, E-Z Serve for 7 years and Transport Express for 25 years.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Scott City, Kansas.
On October 27, 1956 he married Jane Campbell in Grigston, Kansas. She survives.
Survivors Include his Wife - Jane Bollinger of Scott City, Kansas, One Son - Dan & Joni Bollinger of Dighton, Kansas, Two Daughters - Melinda & Andre Girod of Sevierville, Tennessee, Tami & Coleby Thomas of Hays, Kansas, Two Granddaughters - Julie Fields of Clarkville, Tennessee, Mishelle Williams of Sevierville, Tennessee, Three Grandsons - Scott Williams of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Tony Girod of Lorton, Virginia, Trevor Bollinger of Topeka, Kansas, Six Great Grandchildren and Two Step Brothers - Vernon Yowell of Germany and Leroy Yowell of Hugo, Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step father - Leonard Yowell, three sisters - Minnie Rose, Carolyn, & Suzy, and two brothers - Darwin & infant brother.
Memorial Services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Scott City, Kansas at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 6, 2014 with the Rev. Kyle Evans presiding.
Memorials may be given to the Alan D. Bollinger Memorial Fund % of Price & Son Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
Inurnment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
