Adeline C. Arellano, age 73, died Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita, Kans. She was born November 25, 1937 in Deerfield, Kansas the daughter of Valentine and Guadelupe Mosquedo Hernandez. A resident of Garden City since 1954 she had worked as a Bookkeeper at American Implement and then for Geier Electric for 46 years. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church of Garden City, Kansas. Addie enjoyed her family and friends, attending garage sales, embroidering and following her grandkids numerous activities. She also served on the Garden City Police Department Advisory Board.
On April 9, 1962 she married Joseph E. Arellano in Scott City, Kansas. He died December 12, 1992 in Garden City, Kansas.
Survivors include: Two Sons, Joseph A. and Robert J. Arellano both of Garden City, Kansas; One Daughter, Pamela S. Barrientos of Garden City, Kansas; Seven Brothers, Steven, Nativadad, Valentine and Juan Hernandez all of Garden City, Kansas, Ladislado Hernandez of El Dorado, Kansas, Abelardo Hernandez of Amarillo, Texas and Jesus Hernandez of Salina, Kansas; Five Sisters, Angela Ledesma and Nickolasa Guerrero both of Garden City, Kansas, Susanna Rodriquez of Deerfield, Kansas, Maria Searles of Topeka, Kansas and RosaMarie Monroy of La Junta, Colorado; Twelve Grandchildren and One Great-Grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a Brother and a Great-Grandson, Andrew Chavez.
Vigil and Rosary services will be held at 6:30pm on Monday, January 3, 2011 at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Garden City, Kansas.
The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at the St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Francis Khoi Nguyen presiding.
Friends may call from Noon-8:00pm on Sunday and Noon-5:00pm Monday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas.
Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas.
The family requests that memorials be given to the St. Mary Endowment Association in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.
