Vera Alberta Fyler, age 83, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. She was born on January 22, 1925 in Otis, Kansas, the daughter of David and Katie Helwig Schlegel. After losing her mother at the age of 2, her father was married to Mollie Gross who raised her. A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1947, moving from Bison, Kansas, she was a homemaker. Her memberships include the United Methodist Church and Eastern Star both of Scott City, Kansas. On September 27, 1943 she married Kenneth L. Fyler in Bison, Kansas. He survives. Survivors include her husband - Kenneth L. Fyler of Scott City, Kansas, Three Sons - Kenneth L. and Charlene Fyler, Jr. of Wichita, Kansas, Steven M. and Loretta Fyler of Scott City, Kansas, Michael A. and Melinda Fyler of McPherson, Kansas, One Brother - Marvin K. and Ina Mae Schlegel of Oklahoma City, OK, One Sister - Virginia Milliner of Kansas City, Kansas, Fourteen Grandchildren and Twenty Two Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Parents, and Four Brothers. Funeral Service will be held at the United Methodist Church in Scott City, Kansas at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 21, 2008 with the Rev. Dennis Carter presiding. Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the United Methodist Church of Scott City, Kansas % Price & Sons Funeral Home Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, and 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Tuesday @ Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas
