Phyllis Zimbelman

Phyllis Marie Zimbelman, age 82, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2009 at the Park Lane Nursing Home in Scott City, Kansas. She was born on December 13, 1926 in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of John R, and Pearl L. Chestnut Eckert. She was a 7th & 8th Grade Math Teacher in Goodland, Kansas until July 26, 1953 when she married John Zimbelman in Goodland, Kansas. They moved to Emporia, Kansas in 1954 and then in 1957 to Sharon Springs, Kansas. She then was a substitute teacher until 1968 when she became the High School Secretary in Sharon Springs until 1970 when she and her family moved to Leoti, Kansas. Survivors include her Husband - John Zimbelman of Scott City, Kansas, One Son - Michael & Mary ZImbelman of Scott City, Kansas, One Daughter - Susan Zimbelman of San Jose, California, and Two Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Parents. Memorial Services will be held at the United Methodist Church in Leoti, Kansas at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2009 with the Rev. Rick Just presiding. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Memorials may be given to the Park Lane Nursing Home % of Price & Son Funeral Home in Scott City or Leoti. There will be no calling times.
