Mary I. "Jeannie" Haines, age 79, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at the Greeley County Medical Center in Tribune, Kansas. Jeannie was born March 29, 1930 at Cassville, Missouri, the daughter of Elmon Wesley & Florence Elizabeth Davis Turner. She was a homemaker and a bookkeeper and had been a Leoti resident since 1950 moving from Garden City, Kansas. Jeannie was a member of the First Baptist Church, a forty-seven year member of the Rebekah Lodge and several bridge clubs in Leoti as well as being an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. On February 12, 1950 she married Robert " Bobby " Haines at Clayton, New Mexico. He passed away on March 29, 1989 at Leoti, Kansas. Jeannie's surviving family members include- Two sons and their spouses- Dwight & Kimba Haines- Diamond, Missouri Terry & Donna Haines- Leoti, Kansas Two Daughters and their spouses- Becky & Kenneth Glover- Gunnison, Colorado Tammy Haines- Garden City, Kansas One brothers- Donald W. Turner- Cassville, Missouri Two sisters- Margaret Shaw- Perryton, Texas Vera Mays- Eureka Springs, Arkansas Six grandchildren, four great grandchildren She was preceded in death by four brothers, five sisters and one granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 27, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Leoti, Kansas with Pastor Gary Salmans and Reverend Sabra Dyas officiating. Burial will be in Leoti Cemetery in Leoti, Kansas. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Leoti, Kansas. Memorials may be given to the Wichita County Museum of the Great Plains in care of the funeral home.
