John Gaylord

Garden City, Kansas John Edgar Gaylord, age 77, died Sunday, July 26, 2009 at the Christian Health Care West Nursing Home in Springfield, Missouri. He was born on August 26, 1931 in Cimarron, Kansas, the son of Otis & Lillian Kitterman Gaylord. John was a welder & manufacturer of farm implements working for Butler Manufacturing. He later worked in the maintenance department at Garden City Community College until his retirement in 1993 when he & his wife moved to New Port Richey, Florida. In 2003 they moved to Sierra Vista, Arizona and then to Greenwood, Missouri in 2006, to Hutchinson, Kansas in 2008 and since March of this year have lived in Springfield, Missouri. He was a member of the Christian Faith and was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict. On November 15, 1953, he married Vivian C. Base @ Garden City, Kansas. She survives. Other Survivors Include: Three Brothers, Don Gaylord of Horatio, Arkansas, Eddie Gaylord of Merced, California, Allen Gaylord of Wichita, Kansas; and Two Sisters, Carol Witt and Marilyn Fulton, both of Wichita, Kansas. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas with Rev. Robert Nuckolls presiding. Friends may call from 1:00-8:00pm Wednesday and from 10:00am until service time Thursday @ the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas. Interment will be held in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas. The family requests memorials be given to the Garden City Community College Endowment Association in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City, Kansas.
