Glenda M. Mitchell, age 76, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas. She was born on May 1, 1933 in Shoshoni, Wyoming, the daughter of Ben and Hester Wagers Adams. A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1989 moving from Cordell, Oklahoma, she was a Seismograph Permit Agent and LPN Nurse.
She was a member of the Immanuel Southern Baptist Church and VFW Auxiliary both of Scott City and an avid member of the Humane Society.
On June 20, 1952 she married Joseph Boyd in Thermopolis, Wyoming. She later married William Mitchell on April 17, 1975. He passed away on March 21, 1997 in Scott City, Kansas
Survivors include her Two Sons - Glen & Shelley Boyd of Alt, Colorado, Roy & Sheila Boyd of Modoc, Kansas, One Daughter - Jolynn & Marvin Turley of Scott City, Kansas, One Cousin - Katherine Puter of Casper, Wyoming, Eight Grandchildren and Seven Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Two Husbands, and One Son â Ben Allen Boyd.
Funeral Service will be held at the Immanuel Southern Baptist Church in Scott City, Kansas at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 31, 2009 with the Rev. Robert Nuckolls presiding.
Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
Memorials may be given to the Glenda M. Mitchell Memorial Fund % Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday and 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday and 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Monday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
