Esther Estelle Henderson, age 102, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Larned, Kansas. She was born on September 1, 1906 in Stafford County, Kansas, the daughter of Steven J. Frazee & Etta Briggs. A resident of Larned, Kansas since 2007 moving from Garden City, she was a former school cook for Garden City High School and Pierceville Plymell School, where she was known for her pizza.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Garden City, Kansas, and was still active with crocheting and making bead mats and baskets.
On April 6, 1929, she married Floyd Louis Henderson in Hopewell, Kansas. He died on November 27, 1961.
Survivors Include: Two Daughters E. Louise Hands of Garden City, Kansas and Ruth Ann Martin of Larned, Kansas. Eight Grandchildren Linda Ball, Wayne Hands, Khristy Guebara, Vicki Cole, Susan Barnes, Rev. Dean Martin, Twins, Jane DeVore & Joan Moody. Several Great Grandchildren & Great-Great Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by 4 brothers, 6 sisters and one grandson-in-law.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 30, 2009 at the Church of the Nazarene in Garden City, Kansas with the Pastor Timothy Fields presiding.
Friends may call from Noon-8pm on Sunday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City.
Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas.
