Bernard I. Rose, age 89, passed away on Monday, December 3, 2012 at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. He was born on March 9, 1923 in Scott County, the son of Roy R. And Iva M. Crane Rose. Bernard served in the Navy during World War II. He was a lifetime resident and farmer of Scott County, Kansas.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Scott City, Kansas and he was a past member of Horn Creek Ranch Board of Westcliff, Colorado.
On August 21, 1943, he married Esther Gruver in Brewster, Kansas. She passed away on April 30, 1972 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. On November 22, 1975, he married Barbara Fletcher in Leoti, Kansas. She passed away on July 10, 2011 in Scott City, Kansas.
Survivors include his Two Daughters - Regina & Robert Cundall of Collinsville, IL, Berneta & John Rohrbough of Pleasant Dale, NE, One Son - Terry & Sue Rose of Scott City, KS, Two Sisters - Dorothy Evans of Scott City, KS, Royla & Jim Radina of Amarillo, TX, Step-Children - Michael & Donna Fletcher of Lakewood, CO, Debra & Walter Rempel of Meade, KS, Greg & Melissa Fletcher of Leoti, KS, Pamela & Tracy Rickford of Leoti, KS, 7 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren, 12 Step-Grandchildren and 8 Step Great-Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wives, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
Funeral Services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Scott City, Kansas at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 7, 2012 with the Rev. Kyle Evans presiding.
Memorials amy be given to the VIP Center or Pence Community Church % Price & Sons Funeral Home.
Internment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday and 10:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Friday @ Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
