Marjorie Helen (Moler) Hankins, 83 left this world during the early morning of Thursday November 3, 2016 for her place that had long been promised for her with her Lord and Saviour. She was born May 07, 1933 in Garden City the only daughter and oldest child of Myron Moler and Christabel Owens Moler. Marge was the apple of her daddies’ eye. Soon she was joined by brothers Gerald Ray, Gary Lee, Sam, Larry and Jack. Marjorie attended school in Garden City and graduated from Garden City High School in 1952. She was a good student and continued her love of learning into adulthood. Marjorie married Joseph E, Hankins and from their union David, Susan, Cynthia and Phillip were born. They lived in Texas and California before making Haskell County Kansas their home to raise their children. Marge was a homemaker, loved sewing, very involved in her church singing, a member of the bell choir, volunteering and teaching Sunday school and prepared meals for church functions. She was also very involved with her children school activities, singing for weddings and different events. Marjorie was also a member of an all-woman community group that put on community skits, plays etc. she also enjoyed crafts, making jewelry, shopping, dancing and enjoying the company of her many friends Marjorie worked in a few banks, feedlots around Haskell County as a bookkeeper and accountant, finally retiring from Rutter Cline where she had worked as a commercial trucking insurance agent for 20 years in 2005. Marjorie moved back to Garden City in the mid 1980’s once her children were grown and she prepared for the next chapter of her life. Marjorie enjoyed traveling, dancing and having a good time with her friends at area establishments in Garden City. Marjorie was blessed with 5 grandchildren who she loved greatly. She would brag about their accomplishments, activities and always had a current picture to show. She was very involved in their lives and held a deep connect with them all. As time went by she was also blessed with 10 great grandchildren who were the light of her life. Grandma Marge as she was affectionately called loved to watch her family grow. Each time adding another place in her heart. She is survived by son David Hankins, Washington, Daughter Susan and Gene Morris, Liberal, Daughter Cynthia and Mervin Davis, Holcomb, Son Philip Hankins, Florida, Brothers Sam and Myrna Moler, Larry and Janice, Minnesota and Jack and Mary Moler, Florida. Grandchildren Jenna and Brent Warnke, James Hankins, E.J Morris III, Kenny Goodloe, Kevin Hankins and Stephanie Hahn. Great Grandchildren Isaiah, Shemar, Coby, Zietta, Kiana, Damyn, Ily, Chloe, and Jayden She was also expecting another great grandchild in February. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Gerald and Gary, a nephew Jerry and many close friends and loved ones. Visitation will be Monday November 7, 10m to 8pm with the family receiving visitors from 6 to 8pm at Price and Sons Funeral Home 620 North Main Street, Garden City Kansas. Funeral service will be Tuesday November 8, at 2 pm at Community Congregational Church, 710 North Third Street. Committal service will follow immediately at Valley View Cemetery. Marjorie's uncle was the superintendent of the Lee Richardson Zoo for 38 years, this stated a life long passion for the zoo and memorials are suggested to Friends of Lee Richardson Zoo in care of Price and Sons Funeral Home. 620 North Main Street, Garden City Kansas67846.
